Navalny Was Killed Ahead of Planned Prisoner Swap, Allies Say

Opposition activist Alexei Navalny was killed ahead of a planned prisoner swap between Moscow and Western governments, the late Kremlin critic’s allies said Monday. 

“In early February, Putin was given an offer to swap the FSB killer Vadim Krasikov, who is serving a prison term for murder in Berlin, for two American citizens and Alexei Navalny,” his ally Maria Pevchikh said in a video statement.
